Description:
Compact, evergreen shrub or small tree with dense, glossy dark green foliage and a naturally upright, bushy growth habit. Highly valued for its ability to form neat hedges and screens, it responds exceptionally well to clipping and can be maintained as a formal hedge or grown as an attractive feature plant. Its lush foliage provides year-round colour and privacy, making it an excellent choice for urban gardens and contemporary landscapes.

Position:
Full sun to part shade. Performs best in a warm, sheltered position and is well suited to frost-free or very mild frost areas.
Soil:
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil but adapts to a range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils, provided drainage is adequate.

Care Tips:
- Water regularly during establishment and during prolonged dry periods
- Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring and again in summer for lush, healthy growth
- Trim regularly to maintain the desired size and shape; responds exceptionally well to clipping
- Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the trunk
- Drought tolerant once established but performs best with occasional deep watering during extended dry spells
