Hardy low maintenance shrub with glossy dark green foliage and cherry red flowers in summer.  May be grown for hedges, responds well to trimming, can be clipped to form a topiary. Full sun or partial shade with moist, free-draining soil. Frost hardy and suitable for coastal areas. Attracts birds and butterflies.
