Description:
Evergreen groundcover known for its large, glossy leaves and striking blue flower spikes in spring. Unlike typical Ajuga varieties, 'Catlins Giant' has broader leaves and spreads quickly to form dense mats, helping suppress weeds. Its flowers attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies, while the foliage provides year-round interest.

Position:
Full sun to part shade. Prefers some shelter from harsh afternoon sun in very hot areas
Soil:
Well-drained, fertile soil. Tolerates a range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils
Prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH
Uses:
· Groundcover for borders, paths, and rock gardens
· Underplanting for shrubs and trees
· Erosion control on slopes
· Adds colour and texture to shady areas
Care Tips:
· Keep soil moist during establishment; once established, moderately drought-tolerant
· Apply a light slow-release fertiliser in spring
· Trim back after flowering to maintain tidy mats and encourage fresh growth
· Divide clumps in spring or autumn
· Generally pest-free; watch for snails, slugs, and powdery mildew in humid areas
