Description:
Compact, evergreen shrub with aromatic, grey-green foliage and a bushy, upright growth habit. It produces distinctive deep purple flower heads topped with showy purple bracts from spring through summer, creating a long-lasting display that attracts bees and other beneficial pollinators. A hardy and versatile lavender, it is well suited to borders, coastal gardens, containers, and low-maintenance landscapes.

Position:
Full sun. Prefers a warm, open position with good airflow and performs best with plenty of sunlight. Tolerates coastal conditions and dry, exposed sites once established.
Soil:
Requires free-draining soil and performs best in light, sandy, or gravelly soils. Avoid heavy, wet soils as poor drainage can lead to root problems.

Care Tips:
- Water regularly during establishment; once established it is drought tolerant
- Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape and encourage bushy growth; avoid cutting back into old, woody stems
- Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring if required; avoid excessive feeding as this can encourage soft growth
- Mulch lightly with free-draining material to help suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the base of the plant
- Ensure good airflow around plants to reduce the risk of fungal issues, especially in humid areas
- Hardy in most New Zealand climates and tolerant of wind, coastal conditions, and light frost once established
