Description:
Native tree with large, glossy, leathery green leaves that are usually divided into five broad leaflets. It has a rounded, bushy form when young and matures into a small tree. Clusters of tiny greenish flowers appear in summer, followed by small purple-black berries that attract native birds. Its bold foliage gives a lush, subtropical look to gardens and landscapes.

Prefers full sun to part shade; sheltered from strong, cold winds.
Soil:
Moist, well-drained soils; tolerant of a range but thrives in fertile, humus-rich soil.

Care tips:
· Mulch around the base to conserve moisture and suppress weeds.

· Generally hardy once established, though best in sheltered spots.
