Description:
A hardy, evergreen fruiting shrub or small tree with attractive grey-green foliage and silvery undersides. In late spring to early summer, it produces attractive flowers with white petals and prominent red stamens, followed by fragrant, oval green fruit that ripens in autumn. Feijoas are well suited to New Zealand gardens and can be pruned to maintain a compact shape, making them useful for both fruit production and screening.

Position:
Full sun to part shade. A sunny position is best for flowering and fruit production. Shelter from strong winds is beneficial, particularly when plants are young.
Soil:
Fertile, well-drained soil with good organic matter. Feijoas are adaptable but perform best where the soil is well drained and moisture is reasonably consistent.

- Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the trunk.
- Remove damaged or crossing branches as required.
- Established plants are hardy and can tolerate wind and light frost.
