Description:
Compact, evergreen New Zealand native shrub with fine, aromatic foliage and a dense, bushy growth habit. In spring, it produces an abundance of attractive soft pink flowers that cover the plant, creating a vibrant display and providing a valuable food source for bees and other pollinating insects. Its naturally tidy form, hardiness, and tolerance of exposed conditions make it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens, native plantings, borders, and coastal landscapes.

Position:
Full sun preferred for the best flowering and compact growth. Tolerates wind, coastal exposure, and light frost.
Soil:
Prefers well-drained soil and adapts well to sandy, gravelly, and low fertility soils. Avoid heavy, poorly drained soils.

Care Tips:
- Water regularly while establishing; once established it is drought tolerant

- Avoid cutting back heavily into old wood, as mānuka may not regenerate well from older branches
- Apply a native plant fertiliser or a low-phosphorus fertiliser in spring if required
- Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the stems
- Generally hardy throughout New Zealand, tolerating wind, salt exposure, and moderate frost
