Description:
Striking evergreen New Zealand native shrub with a dense, upright growth habit and large, deeply divided glossy green leaves. Selected for its bold foliage and compact form, it provides year-round texture and structure in the landscape. Small greenish flowers may appear on mature plants in summer, followed by dark berries that attract native birds. Hardy and versatile, it is well suited to native gardens, screening, and feature planting.

Position:
Full sun to part shade. Grows well in sheltered or exposed positions and tolerates coastal conditions once established.

Soil:
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter but adapts to a wide range of soil types, including clay and sandy soils, provided drainage is adequate.

Care Tips:

• Hardy in most New Zealand conditions, tolerating wind, coastal exposure, and light frost once established
• Ensure good drainage and avoid prolonged waterlogging
