Description:
A popular evergreen climber with glossy, dark green leaves that often develop attractive bronze or reddish tones during cooler weather. From late spring through summer, it produces masses of highly fragrant, star-shaped white flowers that gradually fade to cream. Its twining stems make it ideal for covering fences, pergolas, trellises, and walls, while it can also be grown as a groundcover or clipped into a formal hedge. Loved for its sweet perfume and lush foliage, it brings year-round beauty to a wide range of New Zealand gardens.

Position:
Full sun to part shade; flowers best in a sunny position.
Soil:
Fertile, well-drained soil. Adaptable to a range of soil types once established, provided drainage is good.

Care Tips:
- Water regularly while establishing; once established it is moderately drought tolerant

- Trim after flowering to maintain shape and control size; responds well to clipping
- Provide a trellis, wires, or other support when growing as a climber
- Mulch annually to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch clear of the stems
- Hardy throughout most of New Zealand, though young plants may benefit from protection in areas with severe or prolonged frosts
