Description:
A hardy New Zealand native shrub with a low, spreading growth habit and small, glossy green leaves that hug the stems, creating a neat, compact appearance. Its foliage develops attractive bronze and orange tones during the cooler months, adding seasonal interest. With its cascading habit and tolerance of coastal conditions, Coprosma 'Hawera' is an excellent choice for groundcover, edging and low-maintenance landscapes.

Position:
Prefers full sun to light shade. Performs best in a warm, open position and tolerates wind and coastal conditions.

Soil:
Adaptable to a range of well-drained soils, including sandy and poorer soils. Avoid heavy, waterlogged ground as good drainage is essential.

• Groundcover and garden edging
• Coastal and exposed gardens
• Rockeries, retaining walls and slopes
• Pots and containers where its cascading habit can be displayed
• Mass planting for low-maintenance areas

Care Tips:

• Water regularly while establishing; once established it is tolerant of dry periods
• Lightly trim if required to maintain a compact shape or encourage denser growth
• Feed in spring with a balanced slow-release fertiliser
• Apply mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds
• Generally hardy and trouble-free once established
