Description:
A distinctive New Zealand native tree with long, arching, sword-like green leaves that form dense tufts atop sturdy trunks. As it matures, Cordyline australis develops an iconic branching habit, creating a striking architectural feature in the landscape. In late spring to early summer, it produces large sprays of fragrant creamy-white flowers that are followed by small white berries, attracting birds and pollinators. Position:
Prefers full sun to partial shade. Thrives in open, sunny positions and tolerates wind, coastal exposure and light frost.
Soil:
