Description:
Hardy New Zealand native evergreen shrub with small, glossy, box-like leaves and a naturally compact, rounded growth habit. It produces spikes of small white to pale lilac flowers in summer, attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators. Its neat form and tough nature make it an excellent choice for low hedges, borders, coastal gardens, and low-maintenance landscapes.

Position:
Full sun to part shade. Performs best in full sun and is highly tolerant of coastal exposure, wind, and salt spray.

Soil:
Prefers free-draining soil but adapts to a range of soil types, including sandy and poorer soils. Avoid consistently wet or waterlogged conditions.

Care Tips:

• Water regularly during establishment; once established, it is drought tolerant

• Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch away from the stem
• Hardy and well suited to New Zealand conditions, tolerating wind, salt spray, and light frost
