Panakenake, or White Star Creeper
Description:
Creeping, mat-forming native groundcover with small, bright green leaves and masses of tiny white star-shaped flowers appearing from spring through autumn. It spreads quickly but remains low and non-invasive, making it ideal for covering soil between stepping stones or under trees. The flowers are followed by small, pale blue berries. It is hardy, evergreen, and tolerant of a range of conditions typical of New Zealand gardens.

Position:
Full sun to full shade. Prefers some moisture and shelter in very hot or dry sites
Soil:
Moist, well-drained soil. Tolerates clay and damp conditions. Benefits from organic-rich soil but adaptable to a range of soil types
