Hebe 'Wiri Cloud'
Veronica 'Wiri Cloud'
Description:
Compact, evergreen New Zealand native shrub with attractive glossy green foliage and a dense, rounded growth habit. It produces masses of white flower spikes from spring through summer, creating a striking display and attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators. Its tidy form, reliable flowering, and hardy nature make it a versatile choice for borders, low hedging, mass planting, and modern landscapes.
Height:
60–90cm
Width:
80–120cm
Position:
Full sun to part shade. Performs best in full sun for the heaviest flowering but tolerates light shade. Suitable for sheltered gardens and tolerates wind, coastal conditions, and light frost once established.
Soil:
Prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Adaptable to a range of soil types but avoid poorly drained or waterlogged areas.
Uses:
- Low hedging and edging
- Mass planting and shrub borders
- Rockeries and cottage gardens
- Coastal and native gardens
- Containers and small gardens

Care Tips:
- Water regularly during establishment; once established it is reasonably drought tolerant
- Lightly trim after flowering to maintain a compact shape and encourage dense new growth
- Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring to support healthy growth and flowering
- Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch clear of the stem
- Avoid overwatering, as good drainage is important for long-term health
- Hardy and adaptable to New Zealand conditions, tolerating wind, light frost, and coastal exposure once established
