Description:
Hardy, evergreen shrub native to Australia with a naturally dense, rounded habit and attractive grey-green foliage. Small white flowers, often with pale lilac or mauve markings, appear mainly from spring through summer, with sporadic flowering throughout the year in mild New Zealand climates. Exceptionally tolerant of coastal conditions, wind, salt spray, and drought once established, it is an excellent low-maintenance choice for hedging, borders, and modern landscapes.

Position:

Full sun to part shade. Performs best in full sun.

Soil:

Well-drained soil. Tolerates sandy, coastal, and slightly alkaline soils but adapts well to most soil types provided drainage is good.

• Feature shrub in modern landscapes

Care Tips:

• Water regularly while establishing; once established it is highly drought tolerant
• Lightly prune after flowering or as required to maintain a dense, compact shape
• Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth
• Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds, keeping mulch clear of the stems
• Generally pest and disease resistant, although scale insects may occasionally occur
• Highly tolerant of wind, salt spray, dry conditions, and light frost, making it suitable for most regions of New Zealand
