Carex testacea
Orange sedge
Description:
Graceful, evergreen native grass forming fine, arching mounds of narrow leaves. The foliage ranges from olive-green to bronze-orange, intensifying in colour during summer and with full sun exposure. It produces delicate seed heads on slender stems that sway attractively in the breeze. This sedge provides texture, movement, and warm colour to gardens year-round.
Height:
40–60 cm
Width:
50–70 cm
Position
Prefers full sun to light shade. Best colour develops in full sun. Tolerates wind and coastal exposure, making it ideal for Auckland’s coastal climate.
