Three Kings Vine
Description:
Rare and striking climbing vine native to New Zealand. It is prized for its large, trumpet-shaped flowers, creamy yellow in colour, which appear in summer and attract birds. The vine has glossy, dark green foliage and can create a dramatic display when trained over pergolas, fences, or trellises, it can be sensitive to frost when young.

Full sun to part shade, where its roots are shaded from the sun
Soil:
Well-drained, fertile soil; prefers slightly acidic to neutral pH
Uses:
· Feature climber for pergolas, arbors, and trellises
· Attracts nectar-feeding birds (e.g., tui, bellbirds)
· Ornamental focal point in gardens
Care Tips:
· Keep soil consistently moist, especially during dry periods; avoid waterlogging
· Apply a balanced slow-release fertiliser in spring and summer to encourage growth and flowering
· Lightly prune after flowering to maintain shape and remove dead or weak growth; avoid heavy pruning in early growth stages
· Provide a strong trellis or pergola, as stems can become heavy when mature
· Young plants may need frost protection in colder Auckland spots
